Model S owners should have now received an email or mail notification of the voluntary recall involving the front seat belts. There have been a number of news articles on the matter.

The issue: A Model S owner in Europe discovered that a front seat belt was disconnected. The company has inspected around 3000 vehicles and did not observe the problem. However, it has sided with caution and is inspecting all Model S sedans to ensure that there are no problems with the seat belts. For many Model S owners, the recall involves a quick visit to a service center – it involves a brief inspection of the seat belt mechanism to ensure proper connection.

Big Island Model S owners can expect Ranger service for this recall. This was confirmed by the service manager at the Oahu service center. A ranger will be on the island for several days to inspect all of the vehicles. The schedule and details are still being confirmed. This post will be updated accordingly.

Feel free to contact the service center directly for more information.
