Our West Hawaii Electric Car Show is only a few hours away – tomorrow, September 19, from 10am to 2pm, at The Shops at Mauna Lani!

We will have the latest EVs on display: Nissan LEAFTesla Model SBMW i3Chevy Volt, and Volkswagen e-Golf. We’ll also have a solar and pedal powered 3-wheeler (the ELF) and a Specialized Turbo e-bicycle.

Other things to look forward to:
  • Islandwide Solar and Provision will have provide information on photovoltaic systems and address questions regarding sizing PV systems to cover EV charging needs.
  • Nissan will be on hand to provide information about the LEAF and offer test drives.
  • HELCO will have a booth and will be sharing information regarding their charging rate plans.
  • Berkey Water Hawaii will be displaying and selling portable solar lanterns. Also displayed will be water filtration systems that can be used to eliminate our dependency on bottled water.
  • Mina Hydro will share information about an unusual hydroelectric generator that can be used to create electricity.
  • We have goodies from Nissan, information brochures from PlugInAmerica and the Sierra Club, and many copies of the Electric Car Insider magazine (courtesy of Chris Alan) to hand out to the public (supplies are limited).
Our event area (booths and displays) will be located at the entrance (by the rotunda).

Note that we’ll have about slots for about 6 EVs in by the rotunda. We may also park additional cars within the courtyard. Additionally, we’ll have reserved parking spaces by the front of the Charge Bliss Level 3 charging station that we unveiled last year.

Help Needed!
If you have an EV and are in town during our events, please join us to show your support of sustainable transportation and help educate the general public. We can use assistance at our booth to register attendees, hand out goodies, address questions, etc…

We’re hoping to obtain press coverage so a good turnout will demonstrate the growing popularity of EVs and help get the attention we need for infrastructure.

The set up for the event will start at around 830AM for this event.
