Welcome to the Big Island Electric Vehicle Association

We are dedicated to expanding electric vehicle (EV) ownership, reducing our dependence on fossil fuel, and helping Hawaii achieve its clean energy goals. We are EV owners, enthusiasts, and supporters of sustainable transportation. We are here to educate everyone about the benefits of owning an EV and to help others adopt clean transportation.

If you own an EV, are considering owning one, or are a sustainability advocate looking for ways to help Hawaii kick gas, join us!

Join Big Island EV’s Rally to the Top, our Earth Month celebration, on April 13. This exciting event will start out with meetups at 4 locations around the island, followed by a drive to the Gil Kahele Recreation Area on Saddle Road. For details and to RSVP, visit our event page.

EV and EV Charging Equipment Incentives

State, federal, and utility incentives offer Hawaii residents and property owners financial support for purchasing electric vehicles and charging equipment. Read about the latest at Hawaii EV Incentives. (hawaiiev.org/federal-incentives)

Our Community

Some of our many meet-ups where the public is invited to learn about EVs.

I really do encourage other manufacturers to bring electric cars to market. It’s a good thing, and they need to bring it to market and keep iterating and improving and make better and better electric cars, and that’s what going to result in humanity achieving a sustainable transport future. I wish it was growing faster than it is.
